Being There, Saving Skin

Gopal was in 8th grade
His uncle took him to army parade
Which he watched with interest
Although he wanted to join the army least.

Indian army is known for bravery
Which guarded the Himalayian border
In severe cold and wind
Our Nation to always defend.

His uncle asked would he wish to join army,
“If I were in army’s music band,”
Gopal replied, “ I ‘d say,
I want to be in mountains too.!”

Fooling For Some Space

Gopal and Sham were friends
They were playing in school ground
Where older children also came to play
Who ordered Gopal to make way.

Gopal was playing with water gun
Which looked like original gun
Sham thought of a plan
And told Gopal to give him the gun.

Sham showed older boys the gun
Being afraid they were on the run
Gopal laughed and said, “This gun is not fatal.”
Sham replied, “But they don’t know that.!”

To Taste First Although Last!

Gopal was in 6th standard
One day was one of his class mat’s birthday
So his classmate distributed sweets
With teacher’s guidance trying to make it neat.

Children are stubborn
And want to be the first
Either to eat sweets or play
Since that is the way they spend time in happy way.

Gopal was last in queue
So evading teacher’s eye
He ran to his classmates, shouting
“Don’t waste time tasting … just swallow!”

Evergreen Hero!

Gopal Mom was helping him surf the internet
When Gopal saw a video of the actor he knew
And asked his Mom to freeze the mouse
So he could watch what he loves.

The actor was doing a stunt
That everyone could remember forever
For which he for everyone could be dear
And which others would never dare.

Mom showed Gopal , written, “Passed away while doing stunt”,
And told Gopal his hero had failed,
Gopal replied,” But also written, It is viewed more than
40million times on YouTube!.”

When Three Tasted Two!

Gopal had two friends
Who brought three chocolates
During the lunch session
While they were in school

Gopal friends were poor in studies
But Gopal was intelligent
He saw his friends counting chocolates
Filled with worries.

Each was holding one and counting the other two
Told Gopal one Chocolate was missing
Gopal put one in his mouth and told them to do the same
To their astonishment with sweet taste in all
of their mouth their problem they overcame!

Eternity!

Gopal was in 6th standard
His teacher used to give homework
Which his Mom thought was hefty
And Gopal wanted his teacher to show pity.

In summer holidays Gopal used to play
With his friends throughout the day
Which was eagerly he was waiting
After the end of this academic season.

One day Gopal’s Mom came to school
His teacher said, “I don’t believe in eternity.”
Gopal’s Mom replied, “If you don’t believe in eternity,
ask Gopal just how long until summer holidays!.”

Saving Easily!

Gopal was in 8th standard
His brother was smart but a year younger
One day teacher told Gopal to save money
And Gopal decided not to spend any penny.

In the evening when his brother caught bus
Gopal ran behind the bus
All the way to his house
And their Mom was surprised.

Gopal told his Mom what teacher said,
His brother added, “He always thinks small,
If he had ran behind a taxi,
To save six dollars for him would have been easy!”
