NASA's SOFIA Discovers Water On Sunlit Surface Of Moon

There may be far more water on the Moon than previously thought, according to two studies published Monday raising the tantalising prospect that astronauts on future space missions could find refreshment -- and maybe even fuel -- on the lunar surface.

The Moon was believed to be bone dry until around a decade ago when a series of findings suggested that our nearest celestial neighbour has traces of water trapped in the surface.

Two new studies published in Nature Astronomy on Monday suggest there could be much more water than previously thought, including ice stored in permanently shadowed "cold traps" at lunar polar regions.

Windows To Life - A Motivational Poem by Venkatesh M.R.

Windows To Life – A Motivational Poem by Venkatesh M.R.

When waves splash and our life slash

Our hopes to stay afloat is only wish

Look where sky and sea meet

And find in your heart light.

Wind and storm in life pass

When serenity in depth of ocean we realize

And dreams of our life to reach the shores

Where rain of happiness pours.

So what we dream night and day

Will see the light one day

You in your life never losing way

In your work being happy everyday .

Light  and sound are around

To keep you in ambiance sound

Just absorb the light of knowledge

And sound of serenity for all age.

Dawn begins with nature songs

To remember where you belong

So keeping your destination in sight

Blossom by doing what is right.

Life is neither east nor west

It is where you do your best

So being where you are

With blooming hope your life take care.

Navarathri Festival – A Poem by Venkatesh M.R.

Let by the sword of mighty goddess

Demons of darkness banish

And light of knowledge shine

In fruits of purity people to dine.

In nine different forms she possess

The whole power of universe

So if with  love and faith we pray

We will succeed each day.

If we surrender at her feet

We will never face defeat

So worshiping the goddess in our breath

We will see light beyond death.

Nobel Peace Prize 2020 Awarded To World Food Programme

The United Nations food agency, the World Food Programme (WFP), won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for its efforts to combat hunger and improve conditions for peace in areas affected by conflict.

The Rome-based organisation says it helps some 97 million people in about 88 countries each year, and that one in nine people worldwide still do not have enough to eat.

"The need for international solidarity and multilateral cooperation is more conspicuous than ever," Berit Reiss-Andersen, chairwoman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, told a news conference.

The WFP is a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict, and the COVID-19 pandemic, which the WFP says could double hunger worldwide, has made it even more relevant, she said.

Asteroid, The Size Of An Airliner, May Collide With Earth's Orbit: NASA

The latest asteroid visiting the Earth's neighbourhood is within two weeks of the last one on September 24, when it zoomed past Earth at a distance of about 13,000 miles above our planet's surface.

An asteroid is likely to cross the Earth's orbit on Wednesday.
