Scientists have discovered the equivalent of smoke-rings in the Tasman Sea which may 'suckup' small marine creatures and carry them at high speed and for long distances across the ocean.
The rings were spotted by analysing sea level measurements taken from satellites together with sea surface temperature images from the same time and place.
Simon Drake, an associate lecturer in geology at Birkbeck University of London, zeroed in on a meter-thick layer at the base of a 60.0 million-year-old lava flow.
The rainbow of hope around you
When in edge of the distress mountain you live
When you lose your way in jungle world
The symphony of songs of birds can be heard.
The sight of hope is far and beyond
Bathing you with serenity where your feet land the ground
And the direction for you to be in civilized society
Is in the song of the bird’s beauty.
So fill your life with beautiful colors
From the nature resources
For once in a lifetime moving in a direction
Where lies your happiness destination.
It's comforting to think of Earth as solid and immovable, but that's false. The world is vibrating, stretching and compressing. We're shaking right along with it.
From 2012 to 2016, the artificially lit area of the Earth's surface grew by 2.2 percent per year, according to the study led by Christopher Kyba of the German Research Centre for Geosciences. Kyba and his team analyzed high-resolution satellite imagery to measure the extent of artificial outdoor lighting at night. The study also found that areas of the planet already lit grew even brighter, increasing in luminosity at a rate of 2.2 percent per year.
Since 1997, NASA satellites have continuously and globally observed all plant life on the surface of the land and ocean. A new animation captures the entirety of this 20-year record into a captivating few minutes.
NASA data has shown that Karnataka’s Mangalore city will flood first if the levels of sea rises due to melting of glaciers as a result of global warming.
A report said that the sea level at Mangalore will rise by 15.98 cm compared to 15.26 cm in Mumbai and 10.65 cm in New York in the next 100 years. It is believed that Mumbai and New York are the most vulnerable cities, however, the new finding has put forward an alternative theory. The findings are based on NASA’s gradient fingerprint mapping (GFM), which is developed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab. The tool helps them analyse data as to how much rise in sea level will be cause by the melting of glaciers.
“This is the first time our method will enable planners and engineers to retrieve data about sea level in their area, and get updated numbers when new data about glacial melting becomes available,” Surendra Adhikari, a co-author of the study, told Hindustan Times on Thursday.
Glaciers– that hold 75 per cent of world’s freshwater– are melting at a brisk place due to global warming. The rate is not constant due to gravity, the “push-pull influence” of ice, the wobble of the planet.
Rising sea level will erode coasts and can cause flooding. Sea level will rise by 0.51-1.31 m by the end of the century. Mumbai and Kolkata are the most vulnerable coastal cities as people living their have the biggest threat of losing their lives.
A picture of India on Diwali, taken from space by 'NASA', has by now become a standing joke. The Photoshopped picture was circulated year after year - but people are wise to it now. So what does India actually look like from space on Diwali - the festival of lights? Thanks to astronaut Paolo Nespoli, we now have an answer. American Richard H. Thaler wins Nobel Prize in economics. An American professor won the Nobel Prize in economics on Monday for groundbreaking research into why people make bad decisions.Economics is built on the assumption that people make rational decisions based on the desire to increase their economic well-being. While economists have long known that isn't strictly true, Thaler was a pioneer in studying why people sometimes make irrational decisions, and how they can be encouraged to make smarter ones.
"He's made economics more human," said Peter Gärdenfors, a member of the committee that awarded the prize.
Thaler, 72, of the University of Chicago, told the press that the most important value of his work was the understanding that "in order to do good economics, you have to keep in mind that people are human."

Be the gracious ocean of life
With aspirations flowing like rivers
From hope of mountain
Which in your heart stations.
In its journey some wishes leaps
Some desire in your life sleeps
But river flows day and night
So be awake in your thoughts.
Then your aspiration reaches the destination
With thoughts of river flowing to ocean
Your hopes filled with light
With vast happiness beaming in heart.
The human race like lotus in pool
To evolve with serenity
With love and faith in ambience
Every child should rise with beautiful stance.
Growing in calm waves of thoughts
Possessing pure and simple tastes
To blossom one fine day
Filled with life which in everyone’s heart stays.
So the beauty of race stays through generations
Blooming after growing with patience
The humble and calm beauty of each child
Is what people need by their side.
Oh Mother!, whose tongue strikes lightening
And lashes the evil of darkness out of the world
And light of sight illumines the universe
Giving darshan in various form in nine days
Please my humble soul and life bless.
Sun and planets move according to your will
With stars lighting your beauty by twinkling
With bells and conches in temples people play
For you to reside in the sanctum and fulfill their wishes
When they worship for you in this places.
Your various forms shedding away people's sins
When they stray in different directions
So please in this festival fill in my vision
Being the source of my rescource
Which praying at your feet inspires.
All true art is the expression of the soul. Poetry is no exception. In the recently published book 'Golden Horizon" Dr.Biplab Majumdar in one of his haikus says,
Indian poetry
Springs from Nature
And ends in deep spirituality
Which is true. Indian ancient culture is richest in the history of the world.. The great sage Shri Adi Shankarcharya once came across the old poor women, who offered a small fruit with great devotion. The sage was so moved that at that instant he formed and uttered a sloka in the form of poetry that gold coins showered from the sky on the old women.
Else where in the planet too the old flock lore played a great role in foretelling the calamities of the Nature. For example in October 2004 issue of National Geographic magazine in the article about Volcanoes in U.S.A. Hawaii National park in pacific ocean, the sequence of volcanoes is clear in flock lore of Hawaii pacific legend what is described in chant and song is the metaphor of what really happened. Scientist now regret it was all in the stories if they had the foresight to look there first.
Now let us look at our own tsunami of 2004. In hindu cosmology the universe is created anew out of cosmic ocean over and over again. Each time it begins in golden age the Krita yuga and ends in the time of social disorder and individual wrongdoing Kali yuga.
The flood now becomes the doomsday flood or pralaya which means at the end of the four ages of eon.
In oldest extant of Indian variant from about 900 B.C. the Shatabdha Brhamana, the first human being Manu, the Indian Adam, a tiny fish asks Manu to save him from big fish who which otherwise eat him. Fish eat fish is Sanskrit equivalent of dog eat dog which means anarchy. Fish in return promises Manu to save him from great flood that is to come.
Manu saves the fish but not only himself alone but all creatures with the help of the fish which is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
More significantly the myth is the part of cycle of time involving fire as well as flood, which Robert Frost called "Fire and Ice".
As young poet practically speaking now literature is finding a place in management courses. Literature especially poetry helps to develop concentration in over whelming information and fragmented ideas.
So poetry is for the future and not only of the past.
Let poets be true celebrities of the planet along with adventurers, explorers and scientists.

In the darkness of wishful room
For happiness of heart you try to find room
The light fills from your dream
And joins with your aspirations to form a team.
It glows like lamp bright filled with sight
Casting the shadows away from thoughts
Making way for the breeze of serenity
To fulfill dreams with sanity.
So as darkness is filled with light
Heart sorrows will be light
And from seconds of ambiguity
You can move away with clarity.
Sailing to the coast of vision
With deep and silent sentiment
In favorable waves by the side
To uphold our country's pride.
With the mast of the ship like flag fluttering
To reach where everyone's dreams are fulfilled
With different cultures moving in same direction
For the ship to reach the destination.
Where people are fed with knowledge
And country moves forward as it age
Being the one to be proud to live on
And with our hopes shine.
When storm lavishes from wounds of heart
And thoughts branches of trees sway away
The woods of life cries for happiness
Let the light of love from the horizon dance.
So verdant leaves filled with peace
Let yield everlasting ripe fruits
To germinate into seeds of hope for next generation
When emotions of life change like seasons.
The presence of happiness in life everywhere
Is what in the ambience one should care
So if everyone to share light prepare
The whole civilization would be taken care.

Guru Purnima is celebrated in India as one of the most auspicious days of the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on purnima or the full moon day in the month of Ashadha (June-July). While social media in India is full of people talking about the significance of Guru Purnima, there is also an unlikely entrant in this list of people tweeting about it. NASA Moon, NASA's official account about the earth's moon, has tweeted about Guru Purnima 2017 too.
In a tweet posted some 16 hours before writing this, NASA Moon talks about the many names given to the full moon this weekend, including Guru Purnima. Other names for Guru Purnima include Hay Moon, Ripe Corn Moon and Thunder Moon. Accompanying the tweet is a stunning picture of the full moon
: An asteroid strike on Earth is just a matter of time and it could destroy major cities, experts have said. According to Alan Fitzsimmons from Queen's University Belfast in Britain, it is a case of when an asteroid collision will happen, rather than if it will happen.
The warning comes ahead of the Asteroid Day to be observed on June 30. On that day in 1908, a small asteroid exploded over Tunguska in Russia's Siberia, levelling trees and burning the ground over 2,000 square kilometres.

The risk of a sizeable asteroid hitting the Earth is significantly growing every few years, warn Czech scientists who analysed 144 fireballs from a recent meteor shower. The Taurid meteor shower showed significantly enhanced activity in 2015. Researchers found that this was due to a well defined orbital structure.
Researchers from the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences showed that a “new branch” of Taurids contains at least two asteroids of the size 200-300 metres. Since it is likely that numerous of undiscovered asteroids of decameter or even larger size are present as well, impact hazard increases significantly when the Earth encounters the Taurid new branch every few years, researchers said.
After years of drought, California is enjoying some lovely respite. Following above average rainfall a five year dry spell, Southern California is enjoying a 'super bloom' of hundreds of wildflowers.
NASA has just released new global maps of the Earth at night - the first since 2012. The stunning satellite images of Earth at night, referred to as "night lights," have been released every decade or so for nearly 25 years. Now, NASA scientists are trying to see if the night lights imagery can be updated more frequently - perhaps even daily. Doing so would drastically change how we forecast weather, improve natural disaster responses and even help track the effects of war.
When desert sandstorm surround you
And you are in search for a path to live
Just breathe the joy and shut the eye
As in due time it will be a clear sky.
The pressure of work like heat in the day
Will turn into cold soothing wind at night
Since there is light even in desert
Keep your aspiration high each day before sun sets.
So achieving successes even grain by grain
Will also lead you to the main lane
Driving you to the board with sign, “there is gain after pain”
And honest efforts does not goes in vain.
We wish to be first among the one
But sun and stars are the one
Which light and shine guiding everyone
From the day dreams in our heart are born.
The selfless service of the sun in the morn
When through its light flowers in plant blossom
Every day filling life and energy in our lawn
Painting the pleasant picture in our life’s each turn.
So to fulfill your dreams taking each step
While serenity of nature in your mind you keep
Where different flowers of race blooming beneath the one
You can live a life filled with fun.
